There are paramedic training programs all over the state of Alabama which specialize in teaching how to treat injuries or other medical emergencies for transport and stabilization to more central care centers. These training courses are regulated by the Alabama Department of Health, Office of EMS and Trauma.

In order to become a paramedic in Alabama, one must not only pass the national EMT exam (the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) but also a state exam issued by approved providers.
